2-D 3-D Animation

Animation

Animation is a way of creating moving illusion of still characters which can be controlled as per the requirement on screen. Animation is a result of amalgamation of art and technology. Initially characters are created, scripts are written then they are animated and voice effects are given. Traditionally, for animation images are drawn or painted manually and then photographed and exhibited on film. Nowadays we use Computer Generated Imaginary (CGI) for creating animation films. But the creation of character and the scriptwriting process is the same.

In the era of internet in India usage of internet has been reached to 54% of population and social media have become part of everybody’s life. People consume lots of contents in form of videos and images. This has increased the demand of video animation in every field. Animation is becoming quite popular medium to express the views. Currently the animation on political sphere is very much in demand.

The message could be for satire, for awareness or for purely entertainment.

The animations are of two types’— 2D animation and 3D animation.

2D Animation

2D animations tend to focus on the character only and rough surrounding visuals are created. All the motions remain in two dimensions. They don’t provides third dimension effects.

2D animation is considered more complicated than 3D animation because it requires artists and animators to draw 24 frames per second and have an in-depth understanding of animation principles, anatomy, movements and the physics behind those movements. 2D animation has many applications, including analogue, computer animation, Flash animation and Power Point animation. Cinema graphs are still photographs in the form of an animated GIF file of which a part is animated. The 2D animation style is used in cartoons, advertisements, product demos, and brand videos – such as educational videos or infotainment videos.

3D Animation

While in 3D animation three dimension characters build virtual worlds in which characters and objects move and interact with each other giving real word feel.

3D animation is digitally modelled and manipulated by an animator. It gives the visual appearance of form to a 3D object or 3D environment. 3D graphics provide realistic depth that allows the viewer to see into spaces, notice the movement of light and shadows, reflection, gravity, particle simulations, simulated fur or hair, and effects, fire and water simulations and gain a fuller understanding of what is being shown. 3D animation is done using computer software and deals with the creation of 3D models and their movement in a digital environment.
